Massive parallel sequencing
Massive parallel sequencing is a hight-throughput method to re-sequence definite regions of genomic DNA or RNA. There are several MPS techniques available all of them rely on the existence of robust sequence data and sophisticated bioinformatic tools.
The quality of MPS data depend on coverage chosen. The advantage is in tumor diagnostics where mutations may occur in small number. Del/dup analysis is sometimes possible.
All coding regions of all genes that belong to an indication group (panel) will be sequenced, so this gene can only be tested in context with other genes. Please see the list of all indication groups this gene belongs to at the end of this paragraph. Beside this fixed indication groups a custom group can be created by our website molabnet.de.
