Mitochondrial RNR2 gene
The mitochondrial gene MT-RNR2 encodes mitochondrial ribosomal RNA (rRNA), the 16S subunit. The gene is encoded by nucleotides 1671-3229. Diseases caused by mutations in that gene are not yet published. The ensemble of all mitochondrial genes is tested if a mitochondrial disorder has to be diagnosed.
